Beginnings of a Classic Friendship
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* “Ugh…five more minutes…” Kay grumbled as she heard the alarm clock ring for the fifth time that morning. Finally having enough of the device, she hit the snooze button and stretched to get herself ready for the day. Looking out the window, she saw a couple birds happily chirping at each other while clouds drifted through the sky above. Something tells me this is going to be a good day, Kay thought as she got up and walked toward the bathroom, her eyes still barely open. After completing her shower routine, she dried herself off and threw on a bathrobe to get dressed for the day. As she was about to leave the bathroom, however, she noticed something strange in the mirror. Blue? I don’t have anything blue on me right now! Kay thought as she took another look in the mirror. As she focused on her reflection, she was amazed at what she saw. Her teenage body had changed overnight, becoming someone who seemed to be in her mid thirties. Blue hair sat atop her head
“AGAIN? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” Chi-Chi stormed outside her house following Goku, who wore a startled expression on his face. “Wha…what are you upset about now?” “How many training trips are you going to go on before you finally decide enough is enough?” Chi-Chi asked, a look of concern painted on her face. “Chi-Chi, this isn’t a training session; I swear!” Goku said, putting on a smile. “I was just going to help Broly, Cheelai and Lemo start a farm on Vampa so they can have more sustainable food!” Relaxing her posture a little, Chi-Chi asked, “And you’re sure there’s nothing else you plan on doing?” “Of course not,” Goku said, his grin growing wider. “Broly’s got a whole month to go before we’re ready to spar again; then we can really see how far Whis’ training is tak–” “And how long before that causes some other threat to take you away from us again?” Chi-Chi asked, immediately getting in Goku’s face again. “I can’t stand not knowing if you’re going to come back to your family or if

Raven watched as Starfire looked out to Jump City, a look of longing on her face. Although no tears were falling from her face, Raven could tell her friend was upset about something. Walking over to her, she looked out the window as she asked, “Hey, Star, you doing okay?” Starfire lightly smiled as she said, “Honestly, I may have what humans call “the blues.” I do not know how to exactly describe my feelings at the moment, but…I think I…might be…” “Take a deep breath,” Raven instructed, giving Starfire time to articulate her thoughts. “Now, tell me what this is all about.” “I’m not sure I can,” Starfire said as she held herself while still staring out at the city. Raven watched her for a while before saying, “Does…this have to do with Robin, by any chance?” “Please, Raven, it is not of any major concern,” Starfire said while trying to smile. “I’m sure I will be fine after a few days.” “That’s…not how being sad works…” “Oh…really?” Raven looked at Starfire’s cluelessness and

“I’m so happy you decided to have lunch with me today,” Doctor Fennel said as she sat across from Professor Aurea Juniper at the outdoor restaurant in Striaton City. “I was hoping we could discuss some new breakthroughs I’ve made studying Musharna’s Dream Mist.” “That sounds interesting, Fennel,” Juniper said as she took a sip of tea. “Knowing you, you wouldn’t be bringing up anything unless you’ve weighed the ethical implications of your discovery.” “Yes, and I think I’ve found a way to use it for more practical uses, aside from reviving fossils and studying dreams,” Fennel said excitedly. “Well, don’t keep me in suspense; let me know already!” Juniper said, loving the excited tone her friend was taking. “Well, actually, Amanita’s still doing some last minute research to make sure most of my theorized uses for it are even plausible. However, she should be done momentarily, and I can regale you of everything I have planned with it.” “You said “most,” so there’s at least one thing

“And here we are!” Anko Mitarashi said as she dropped her bags on the ground. Hinata Hyuga followed her as she took a look around their surroundings. The two kunoichi were standing at the edge of a lake in a cavern. Little sunlight made it that far into the cavern, but shining crystals lit up the walls, providing enough light to illuminate the cavern. Anko was busy setting up a tent as Hinata took in the surroundings. “Um…Anko-sensei…what exactly are we doing here?” “We’re training, duh,” Anko responded. “Kurenai asked me to toughen you up so you can hold your own in the next Chunin exam, and this is the perfect place to do it.” “Are you sure? It doesn’t look like there’s many options for food here.” “That’s why I brought some with me,” Anko said as she unpacked. “Got enough to feed us for a whole month.” “Okay…but I still do–” “Besides, I want to help you improve in more ways than one,” Anko said, catching Hinata off guard. “You’re too self-conscious for your own good.

Rukia Kuchiki and Orihime Inoue stood in front of Kisuke Urahara as he finished setting up various equipment all over the space. As soon as he was finished, Urahara said, “Okay, ladies, I’m all set to go with the experiment!” “Hold on; I still don’t know what this is about,” Rukia said. “What kind of experiment are we dealing with here?” “I’m hoping to explain how a Soul Reaper can make others Substitute Soul Reapers.” “You mean I can be like Ichigo?” Orihime asked with a smile. “Wait a minute; we already know why,” Rukia said. “It’s because we transfer our power to others, plain and simple.” “I’m not too sure about that,” Urahara said. “If it was just your powers, then why didn’t Ichigo get your Zanpakutō? If it was just your power being transferred, then he should’ve had the ability to use any of the combat abilities you had at the time.” “So you think there’s something else at play?” Rukia asked. “Exactly. When you did it to Ichigo, you awakened his latent abilities, which

“You summoned me, Lord Millicas?” Grayfia Lucifuge said as she walked into MIllicas Gremory’s room. “Mother, you can just call me by name,” Millicas said, seemingly annoyed by how his mother addressed him. “After all, it’s just you and me in the castle today.” “Very well, Millicas,” Grayfia said with a bow. “Now, may I ask why you’ve summoned me?” “I’d like to practice a spell,” Millicas said as he walked in front of Grayfia. “On the off-chance Rias doesn’t want the position as Head of the Gremory Clan, I’d like to prove I deserve the title and not just be seen as the beneficiary of nepotism.” “I’m sure no one will see you as such, Millicas, but improving your skills in magic will be most beneficial for you regardless. What kind of spell are you practicing?” “I figured I’d start with something minor today: a spell to switch our personalities.” Grayfia gave a questioning look as she asked, “Are you sure you want to mess with such a spell? It could have unintended

“...and that’s all for tonight; thank you all so much for joining me in looking over the top TikTok videos this week! This is N4MaPenny saying, “See ya later!”” “...and we’re off!” “Ugh, finally!” Porcia Allen said as she took off the headphones and got up from the chair. “I swear, if I had to watch one more of those TikToks, I was going to puke!” “You know, Mom, it couldn’t hurt you to learn a little about what girls my age are into,” Penelope Allen retorted as she got things ready for the next day. “Besides, I’d say you did a good job. Viewership was still high tonight, so tomorrow should be a cakewalk for you.” Porcia stood in the doorway of Penelope’s room watching her daughter perform maintenance on her equipment. “I just don’t understand why I have to do this. Can’t you just take a break from this…hobby of yours and ju–” “It’s not just a hobby; I actually get a steady stream of income from what I do,” Penelope countered. “And I asked you to take my place in the livestream
